About Our Team

Joanne Thambuswamy, MD (she/her)

Dr. Thambuswamy is a board-certified family physician with a strong commitment to improving healthcare access for underserved communities. She is passionate about patient education, focusing on holistic well-being. Dr. Thambuswamy has a particular interest in expanding access to gender-affirming care, reproductive healthcare, and HIV care.

Professional Strengths: I possess strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, enabling me to effectively identify and address the root causes of patient concerns. My diverse background, having lived in various locations and worked with diverse populations, has fostered adaptability and the ability to think creatively in challenging situations.

Identity: I am a cisgender female of Indian heritage, deeply inspired by the legacy of my ancestors and driven to build a future that surpasses their aspirations.

Professional Mission: My work is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive haven for individuals who may have historically lacked access to quality healthcare. Family medicine offers a unique opportunity to serve as a trusted source of care for patients of all ages and backgrounds, a privilege I deeply value.

At Inclusive Health, we believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality, compassionate healthcare. We offer a full range of medical services for people of all genders and sexual orientations. At this time, only virtual appointments are available. We accept Aetna, Coordinated Care/WellCare, First Choice Health, First Health, Medicare, Molina, Premera, Regence, United Healthcare, and Washington Healthcare Authority (more soon!). There is also a reduced pay scale for those paying out of pocket. At this time, we are only licensed in Washington State, so a patient must be physically in Washington to be seen.

  • We provide comprehensive primary care for people of all ages, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and mental health support.

  • We provide comprehensive gender-affirming care, including hormone therapy, surgery referrals, and mental health support.

  • We offer comprehensive HIV care, including medication management, prevention services, and support groups.

  • Though we do not perform deliveries or C-sections, we do offer a full range of reproductive health services, including birth control, pregnancy care, and abortion care.
